Today’s quote and prayer from
“Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer”
by David Kitz.
Reading: Psalm 109:1-5
Father God,
today I pray for all who are on the receiving end
of personal betrayal and words of hatred.
Show them your love,
protection, comfort, and mercy.
Let compassion reign.
Help me to be an instrument of help
and encouragement.
Amen.

I remember the first time I read that verse and realized it’s seriousness. I started being more intentional and less carless about what I said. I still struggle with some things such as; “My back is killing me!” I know it’s not really and I don’t want it to really be!
Thanks for the reminder, even though my sleep deprived brain didn’t explain it well.
Blessings~
Yes, our words matter. I think we all need to be very thoughtful about what we say and write. Our words have power. Thanks for your reply, Robbye Faye.
You are welcome.
Would that others would understand, too.
Thats verse always leads me back to the greek word for spirit (pneuma). This term also means breath. Our words emit breath and likewise emit spirit. Thay have spiritual authority to change things if we fuel them with faith! Even the grrek term lego (to say) means to command. Hence wtv we say we are commanding. Bless you
