You are my hiding place and my shield. I find hope in your word (Psalm 119:114 NET)

Reflection
This week’s I Love the Psalms theme is hope.
Do you have a personal hideout? Is there a place where you can retreat from the world and its demands? The psalmist found his hiding place in God. He is our shield—a place of safety. As we hear and read his word we find hope.
Response: Word of God speak to me. Let me hear your words of love and assurance. Show me the way forward today. Amen.
Your Turn: Does God’s word bring you hope?
Yes! Often I realize in a seemingly difficult situation, that focusing on his word and His promises brings assurance
In difficult times turning to God’s word is often the smartest thing we can do.
Yes, God’s word does bring me hope, particularly during difficult times. I also wanted to mention that in reading psalms alive! I really enjoyed the humour in Chapter 19 The God Who Stoops Down.
Thanks, Jenny. That chapter was quite a departure from the norm in the book, so I worried that it seemed out of place, but it has been well received.
