I’ve read quite a few books on biblical prophecy and typology over the years, but The Elisha Code gave me a perspective I hadn’t come across before. The authors explore the idea that the relationship between Elijah and Elisha serves as a prophetic pattern that finds its fulfillment in the ministries of John the Baptist and Jesus. They don’t rush to their conclusions. Instead, they walk through the Scriptures step by step, allowing readers to see how the connections are made for themselves.

What I enjoyed most is that the book always keeps the focus on Christ. It would have been easy to get caught up in the symbolism and prophetic parallels, but the authors consistently point everything back to Jesus. I found myself going back to the Gospels and reading familiar passages with fresh curiosity instead of simply taking the authors’ word for it.

I also liked that the book isn’t just a theological study. It naturally leads into conversations about repentance, discipleship, revival, and what those things mean for the Church today. Even if you don’t end up agreeing with every interpretation, the book encourages you to think more deeply and spend more time in God’s Word.

The biggest compliment I can give is this. When I finished reading, I didn’t feel like picking up another book. I wanted to open my Bible and continue studying for myself. Any Christian book that inspires that kind of response has accomplished something meaningful.

If you’re looking for a light devotional, this probably isn’t the book for you. But if you enjoy thoughtful, Scripture-centered books that connect the Old and New Testaments in fresh and compelling ways while keeping Jesus at the center, I think you’ll find The Elisha Code well worth reading.
