Heavenly Father,
I call out to you.
I lay out my requests.
Teach me to wait expectantly for you.
Open my ears to hear your voice.
I want to be tuned into you
throughout my day.
Amen.

Autumn Splendor – photo by David Kitz

While Paul was waiting for them in Athens,
he was greatly distressed to see
that the city was full of idols.

So he reasoned in the synagogue
with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks,
as well as in the marketplace day by day
with those who happened to be there.

A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers
began to debate with him.
Some of them asked,
“What is this babbler trying to say?”
Others remarked,
“He seems to be advocating foreign gods.”
They said this because
Paul was preaching the good news
about Jesus and the resurrection.

(Acts 17:16-18 NIV)*

New from David Kitz

James—the brother of Jesus—who was this man? What evidence do we have that this “brother of our Lord” even existed?

David Kitz digs deep into archeology, family dynamics, church history, and the biblical texts. What emerges from his research is a portrait of a decisive, pivotal leader who embodied the will and character of Jesus Christ.

But how did James—James the unbeliever—transform to become a leader who changed the course of world history? In these pages you will uncover the answer and rediscover for yourself the life-changing power of the gospel.
