Today’s quote and prayer from
“Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer”
by David Kitz.

Reading: Psalm 116:10-14
Lord Jesus,
I thank you for your sacrifice.
You gave yourself fully for me.
On a crude wooden cross
you purchased my salvation.
Today, help me fulfill my vows to the LORD.
Amen.

I just returned from my parents home where I’ve been helping them sort through various closets and bedrooms. Out of one closet we discovered a small projector and a set of Easter film strips. I was immediately reminded of the year Dad took our older siblings to love feast at church while Mom stayed home with us little kids. That evening she showed us that Easter film strip and gave us grape juice and bread to help us understand the Last Supper. That experience had a big influence on me. It helped solidify my understanding of the events of Easter week as well as the connection of communion to Jesus’ death on the cross for me.
What a wonderful reflection on the most wonderful story. I know Bible pictures from my childhood influence my thoughts to this day. What a precious heritage you have, Beth Alisan.
