Today’s quote and prayer from
“Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer”
by David Kitz.Psalm 33_11

Reading: Psalm 33:10-15

LORD God,
thank you for choosing me
to be to be one of your people.
Help me to live a life that is pleasing to you,
my Father.
You watch over me.
You, O LORD are my inheritance,
and first and foremost,
I am a citizen of your eternal Kingdom.

Amen.

— — —

But you are a chosen people,
a royal priesthood,
a holy nation,
God’s special possession,
that you may declare the praises of him
who called you out of darkness
into his wonderful light.

Once you were not a people,
but now you are the people of God;
once you had not received mercy,
but now you have received mercy.
(1 Peter 2:9-10), NIV)*

Today’s quote and prayer from
“Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer”
by David Kitz.Psalm 33_6-9 -365

Reading: Psalm 33:6-9

LORD God,
help me give careful consideration to my words.
Today, may my words,
whether written or spoken,
be a creative force for good in Jesus’ name.

Amen.

— — —

All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures
are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind,

but no human being can tame the tongue.
It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father,
and with it we curse human beings,
who have been made in God’s likeness.

Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.
My brothers and sisters, this should not be.

Can both fresh water and salt water
flow from the same spring?

My brothers and sisters,
can a fig tree bear olives,
or a grapevine bear figs?
Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
(James 3:7-12), NIV)*

Father God, grace, hearing God, Jesus, Prayer, Psalms, the LORD, trust in God

Today’s quote and prayer from
“Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer”
by David Kitz.Psalm 32_8

Reading: Psalm 32:8-11

LORD God,
 give me ears to hear
what you have to say to me.
Please instruct me and teach me
in the way I should go.
Then give me grace to obey.
I put my trust in you, O LORD.

Amen.

— — —

Jesus answered,
“I did tell you,
but you do not believe.
The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me,

but you do not believe
because you are not my sheep.

My sheep listen to my voice;
I know them, and they follow me.

I give them eternal life,
and they shall never perish;
no one will snatch them out of my hand.

My Father,
who has given them to me,
is greater than all;
no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

I and the Father are one.”

Today’s quote and prayer from
“Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer”
by David Kitz.Psalm 32_6-7 -365

Reading: Psalm 32:6-7

LORD God,
I want to seek after you.
Show yourself to me today
in this grand adventure called life.
I want to have an encounter with you.
I want to know what it means to be found by you.

Amen.

— — —

Now Moses was tending the flock
of Jethro his father-in-law,
the priest of Midian,
and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness
and came to Horeb,
the mountain of God.

There the angel of the LORD appeared to him
in flames of fire from within a bush.
Moses saw that though the bush was on fire
it did not burn up.

So Moses thought,
“I will go over and see this strange sight—
why the bush does not burn up.”

Today’s quote and prayer from
“Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer”
by David Kitz.Psalm 31_3

Reading: Psalm 31:1-5

LORD God,
I thank you for Jesus.
You alone are my rock
and my eternal fortress.
Guide my spirit into the right path today.
Keep me safe from the traps of the enemy.
I trust in you, Lord.

Amen.

— — —

Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD:

“I will sing to the LORD,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea.
“The LORD is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
The LORD is a warrior;
the LORD is his name.
Pharaoh’s chariots and his army
he has hurled into the sea.
The best of Pharaoh’s officers
are drowned in the Red Sea.
The deep waters have covered them;
they sank to the depths like a stone.
Your right hand, LORD,
was majestic in power.
Your right hand, LORD,
shattered the enemy.

I will praise the LORD!

Psalm 141_8-9Reading: Psalm 55:16-19

As for me, I call to God,
    and the LORD saves me.
Evening, morning and noon
    I cry out in distress,
    and he hears my voice.
He rescues me unharmed
from the battle waged against me,
    even though many oppose me.
God, who is enthroned from of old,
    who does not change—
he will hear them and humble them,
because they have no fear of God.

Today’s quote and prayer from

Reading: Psalm 32:1-5

LORD God,
have mercy on me.
I acknowledge my sin to you
and do not cover up my iniquity.
I need your forgiveness.
I put my trust in the redeeming sacrifice
of your Son, Jesus.

Amen.

— — —

If we claim to be without sin,
we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just
and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness.

If we claim we have not sinned,
we make him out to be a liar
and his word is not in us.

Psalm 31_14-15

Reading: Psalm 31:14-18

LORD God,
I do not know what the future holds for me,
and my family,
but like David,
I put my trust in you.
Guide me in your ways.
My life is in your hands.

Amen.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
    bind them around your neck,

Then you will win favor and a good name

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Jesus, Peter, Prayer, Psalms, Son of God, the LORD, trust in God

Today’s quote and prayer from
“Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer”
by David Kitz.

Reading: Psalm 31:9-13

LORD God,
have mercy on me.
Come to my aid.
When I stumble and fall into the dry well of despair,
please come to my rescue.
Help me see Jesus peering down at me.
Loving Jesus,
extend your hand of help.

Amen.

— — —

“Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat,
walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

But when he saw the wind,
he was afraid and, beginning to sink,
cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.
“You of little faith,”
he said,
“why did you doubt?”

And when they climbed into the boat,
the wind died down.

Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying,
“Truly you are the Son of God.”

(Matthew 14:4-7), NIV)*
