Today’s quote and prayer from
“Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer”

Today’s Reading: Psalm 7:10-17

Listen to today’s reading by Jonathan Dent:

Heavenly Father,
today show me how
I can build others up
instead of tearing them down.
I want to be more like you,
Lord Jesus.
You came to lift others.
In my interactions today,
help me do the same.
Amen.

— — — —

Therefore,
rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit,
hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

Like newborn babies,
crave pure spiritual milk,
so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,

now that you have tasted
that the Lord is good.

(1 Peter 2:1-3 NIV)*

New from David Kitz

James—the brother of Jesus—who was this man? What evidence do we have that this “brother of our Lord” even existed?

David Kitz digs deep into archeology, family dynamics, church history, and the biblical texts. What emerges from his research is a portrait of a decisive, pivotal leader who embodied the will and character of Jesus Christ.

But how did James—James the unbeliever—transform to become a leader who changed the course of world history? In these pages you will uncover the answer and rediscover for yourself the life-changing power of the gospel.

I will praise the LORD!

A Call for Right Living

Psalm 101:5-8

Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret,
    I will put to silence;
whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,
    I will not tolerate.
My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
    that they may dwell with me;
the one whose walk is blameless
    will minister to me.
No one who practices deceit
    will dwell in my house;
no one who speaks falsely
    will stand in my presence.
Every morning I will put to silence
    all the wicked in the land;
I will cut off every evildoer
    from the city of the LORD.

Today’s quote and prayer from
“Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer”
by David Kitz.Psalm 35_26-28 -365

Reading: Psalm 35:26-28

Father God,
give me a heart of thanksgiving.
Help me appreciate the giftings
and success of others.
Grant me a pure heart with pure motives.
May I always delight in the well-being of your servants.

Amen.

— — —

“‘Do not curse the deaf
or put a stumbling block in front of the blind,
but fear your God. I am the LORD.

“‘Do not pervert justice;
do not show partiality to the poor
or favoritism to the great,
but judge your neighbor fairly.

“‘Do not go about spreading slander
among your people.

“‘Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life.
I am the LORD.

“‘Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart.
Rebuke your neighbor frankly
so you will not share in their guilt.

“‘Do not seek revenge
or bear a grudge against anyone
among your people,
but love your neighbor as yourself.
I am the LORD.
(Leviticus 19:14-18), NIV)*

Be good to your servant while I live,
    that I may obey your word.
Open my eyes that I may see
    wonderful things in your law.
I am a stranger on earth;
    do not hide your commands from me.
My soul is consumed with longing
    for your laws at all times.
You rebuke the arrogant, who are accursed,
    those who stray from your commands.
Remove from me their scorn and contempt,
    for I keep your statutes.
Though rulers sit together and slander me,
    your servant will meditate on your decrees.
Your statutes are my delight;
    they are my counselors.
